The Kabbalah of Love: Part One

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

By Shifra Hendrie (This is the first article in a new series on the Kabbalah of Love stay tuned for upcoming articles!) Intimate Love. What feelings do these words stir up in you? Longing? Excitement? Pleasure? Fear? Whatever the feeling, if thinking about intimate love makes your heart beat faster, Im not surprised. This feeling is more powerful than almost any we can experience. Thats because its nothing less than the touching of two souls. Three years ago I suffered the terrible loss of a younger brother. In an attempt to actually experience something beyond the painfully limiting framework of the physical world, I made a couple of visits to a hypnotherapist who practiced past-life regression therapy. Under hypnosis, I had an experience that I will never forget. I dont know whether it was a dream, a memory from another life, or my soul expressing itself through images, but this is what happened: During the session, the therapist directed me to get in touch with a memory from an earlier time. Suddenly, out of nowhere, I saw myself as a young woman, Polynesian perhaps, with long dark hair. I was standing in front of a small white hut, tall green bamboo plants swaying gently on each side. I walked forward and entered the hut. Inside I saw a simple room, a dirt floor and a long low wooden table. Cross-legged by the table sat a young man. As I entered, he looked up into my eyes and smiled at me. What happened next is something that made an indelible impression on me. As I saw his smile I felt a blinding, overwhelming love pass from him into me. The sensation was as strong as a physical blow. Without conscious thought, instantaneously, my entire being responded. I was flooded with a sensation of light, joy and oneness. I felt my heart my whole essence - leap out of my body toward him. The experience was dazzling. I dont think intimacy gets more intense than this, the tangible, intense, overwhelming merging of two souls drawn to each other out of pure essential love. Heres my question: From where did this experience come? I was lying on a couch in a hypnotists office. Outside of the silent therapist, nobody was there but me. In actual fact, at that moment of overwhelming love, unity and connection, I was, on the physical plane at least, entirely alone. Whether or not this incident actually took place in some earlier life, at that moment this tangible joy, love and connection was coming solely from inside of me. From where precisely did it come? Where was it hiding before this experience? And where did it go back to when the session was over? How can a feeling so pure, bright and overwhelmingly real be here one moment, gone the next? Many years ago, when a cousin of mine was four years old, she suddenly looked down at herself and exclaimed: Im all alone! Her mother quickly reassured her: Dont worry, Sweetheart, Im right here. My cousins response? No, I mean in here! Im all alone in here! That feeling of all alone is something every one of us can relate to. Our bodies separate us from each other and from our Source in the unifying Oneness from which we come. But just beneath the surface there is a part of each of us that is never disconnected, never alone. This part is always present, but is concealed often completely - behind the stories, struggles and concerns of our ego-based identities. This all alone is the profoundest of illusions. And its all the more profound because it feels so very real. But this illusion is no accident. In order to allow for the existence of limitations, boundaries, separateness, polarity, conflict, and free choice (i.e. human existence) G-d performs a feat more challenging than any we can imagine. Like the hand within the puppet, He hides Himself within the fragmented details of Creation while at the same time remaining their activating force. Like the concealed hand does for the lifeless puppet, the spark of G-d concealed within you makes you alive. The goal: to see through the illusion and live in alignment with the truth. In truth, despite my example, you are not a puppet. You are created in the image of G-d. You are invested with conscious awareness and the power to choose. You can choose to relate to yourself only within the context of your limited role; the specific circumstances, struggles and goals of your daily life. You can believe, or at any rate live, as if that is the whole picture. This is like identifying with the appearance and role of the puppet and with the script of whatever play is being acted out today. Or you can choose to look deeper, seeing through the limits of your ego-based identity and immediate life circumstances to the Creative Divine spark that makes you live. So whats this got to do with love? Back to my experience. I didnt know who I was, much less who the man was. I was disconnected from all stories, agendas, past and future. I was disassociated from my identity, the puppet. But the love the leaping of my heart, my essence, to connect with another, was very, very real. Thats because love is an indelible part of the landscape of the soul. Like the spark within a flintstone - invisible but unextinguishable - the spark of pure unconditional love is concealed but infinitely present within the essence of every one of us. Kabbalah often compares the soul to the flame of a candle. Just as a flame is always reaching up, trying to reconnect with its source in the supernal fire, at the pure heart of all love and yearning is the souls passionate desire to reconnect with its Divine Source. Within every human being who walks the face of this earth, there is a pure spark of the Divine Source of us all. Just as were drawn to connect with our Source, we are drawn to connect with that spark. Your own pure essence is seeking to connect with the pure essence and spark of another. As long as you identify exclusively with the puppet, i.e. your limited ego-based identity, the love that you experience will be limited as well. You will allow yourself to embrace only that which reinforces your ego, helps you meet your survival needs, and protects you from a frightening sense of vulnerability. This level of love, although very human and an integral part of most relationships, is conditional and agenda-based. But when you identify with the Divinity within yourself, the part beyond the stories and agendas, you create an opening for your essence. This automatically creates an opening for the essence of others. And wherever essence touches essence love authentic love - becomes revealed. Making it real: There are two basic paths to creating this opening, and both are important: CREATE AN OPENING: Challenge the limiting boundaries of your identity by doing things that take you out of your comfort zone. Its especially important to do this in your relationships. For example: allow yourself to be vulnerable, let someone else be right, listen to understand instead of to be understood, open yourself to a new point of view, give generously of your resources even when it feels hard. FILL YOURSELF WITH LIGHT: Nurture your inner spark by doing things that connect you with G-d and your own soul, a higher, truer plane of reality. Communicate with your Creator from your heart. Get more deeply acquainted with G-ds perspective and your souls mission by learning, absorbing and integrating the deep, powerful light of Authentic Kabbalah. Give charity and practice kindness. Watch for your messages and for opportunities to make a difference. All of these things will help you to expand the limits of who you know yourself to be and create an opening and channel for your essence to express itself. News Flash: Legal Assistants Read Bathroom Walls

Monday, May 26th, 2008

By Laura McDonald I was one of the younger kids in my class, and graduated at 17. Upon graduation, I was hired immediately by a city attorney. First full-time job - it was definitely my baptism by fire. I enjoyed it, really enjoyed it…well, except for having to deal with that older woman across the hall. She was the real estate paralegal and worked directly for my boss. Best description I can share is that she was a very handsome woman. Know the type? Not beautiful, but very attractive. Her regal style literally commanded respect. My personality is outgoing and I don’t fear many things in life, but that woman intimidated me. Apparently the intimidation I felt fed my desire to please and impress her. I was rarely successful. Whew, tough nut to crack. One day I was typing a Last Will and Testament for a waiting client. As the paralegal wandered by, she noticed me using correcting tape. “Is that a will?” “Yes.” “Do I see what I think I see, you’re using correcting tape?” “…yes? Almost finished…” “Take it out and start all over again, you must never make a mistake on a will, even if corrected.” Now this was a few years ago. It was in the days before word processing. All right, it was several years ago. When we used tiny strips of correcting tape and had to line it up just right to rehit the incorrect stroke and hope it adequately covered the typo. Okay, it was several years ago. Okay, many. Fine. I got so flustered I wound up wasting several sheets of heavier gauge special will paper before I finished a perfect document. Obviously, the incident impressed me to still easily recall it today. But she was right. Overkill, perhaps, but shouldn’t all documents prepared by law firms be typo-free? Clients pay for professional advice and the preparation of official documents. Shouldn’t those documents be perfect? Excellent proofreading is a great skill for a paralegal to develop. A paralegal should check and recheck her work product, and not only her own but also the work done by others around her. Proofread work done by your boss. Proofread work done by your secretary. Proofread the work done by other paralegals down the hall. Proofread advertising on busses. Read the bathroom walls at dance clubs, no doubt some editing could be done there! Overkill? That particular story ends well. Over time, I felt less intimidated and ultimately gained that woman’s respect. And friendship. I learned a valuable lesson - backspace and delete keys are pretty darn handy for invisible corrections. Laura McDonald is a paralegal. She has many years of experience in the areas of personal injury (accident related and medical malpractice), workers compensation, civil litigation, family, environmental, and corporate law, estate planning, and bankruptcy. She is employed by Michael L. Hawkins & Associates, P.L.L.C. in Frankfort, Kentucky. Her website is: http://www.paralegalsecretary.bravehost.com. Armor Bearer In Modern Days: What is It? p1

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

By Earma Brown Saul liked him very much and David became one of his armorbearers. 1 Samuel 16:22b In biblical days, an armorbearer was one who actually carried the shield and armor of his leader as he went into battle, often acting as his personal assistant. For example, King Saul had several armorbearers assigned to him.1 In our modern-day, I see no one walking around fully suited in the classical armor of the early centuries. Nevertheless, in the spiritual realm, we continue to need our armor. The Ephesians’ writer commands us to put on the full armor of God so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes.2 Just as much as our early century counterparts, we in the ministry of service are to suit up in the Armor of the Spirit and carry the armor of God’s leaders in the battle of faith. The term armorbearer was originally translated from the Hebrew word, nasa, meaning to figuratively or literally lift up, support or simply help.3 On occasion, Bible translators have translated the word, “help”, from the Hebrew word, nasa. In light of these defining terms, we can see an armorbearer is one that helps or supports the arms of an assigned leader during the times of battle. A modern day armorbearer is one called by God to serve and help his assigned leader in life, ministry, and especially in the fight of faith.4 In essence, an armorbearer is called to attend to, minister to, care for, help, be of use, assist, benefit, promote, support, make easy for, nourish, and encourage their leader. Furthermore, God calls others to walk in the spirit of armorbearing. They may not be assigned specifically to one leader, but they possess the mindset and attitude of an armorbearer. The attitude of an armorbearer is one of servanthood. The mindset of an armorbearer, as well as those operating in the spirit of one, is to do what it takes to serve and support their leadership.5 Operating in the spirit of armorbearing can also be described as operating in the principles or pervading qualities of an armorbearer. The qualities that top the list are servanthood, commitment, attentiveness, support, help, loyalty, and faithfulness. Armorbearing in the attitude of service is not just the performing of humble tasks, but is an effort to serve Christ in the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, “The servant of all is the greatest of all.” Among my favorite examples, are the great men in Old Testament scripture, many who were faithful armorbearers before their public ministry. King David, King David’s mighty men, Elisha and Joshua exemplified the armorbearing spirit in excellence. Even Elisha’s assistant, Gehazi, offers us an example of what we do not want to do as an armorbearer.6 One need not think our Father God only called armorbearers or helpers to assist in the ancient battles. Look at New Testament Joseph of Cyprus, nicknamed “Barnabas,” or “Son of Encouragement.” The most popular view is that Joseph of Cyprus gained these names because he constantly encouraged those to whom he and Paul ministered. Recently, I have considered another thought as to why he was called “Son of Encouragement.” Perhaps it was because he persevered by Paul’s side through shipwrecks, stoning and much rejection. Do not overlook Stephen and Phillip among the seven appointed to wait tables for the early church apostles’ feeding program. The leaders assigned them to help while their apostles gave greater focus to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Throughout the Bible and today, God is still calling helpers and armorbearers to lift up the arms of our Church leadership. Operating in the spirit of armorbearing is fulfilling a ministry of help, watchfulness, and intercession on behalf of our leadership. I believe God has issued a fresh call to serve and support our leaders in this way. Only He knows the spiritual effort and sheer hard work it will take to accomplish the vision of His Church. The Apostle Paul encouraged us to excel in the gifts that build up the Church. As we in the ministry of helps excel in the gift of service and supporting our leaders, we will come into the unity of faith like never before. When we each take our place and share the load our men and women in leadership will suffer less weariness and burnout, giving opportunity for a greater refreshing from the Lord. Wedding Ceremony: Guide to a Civil Ceremony

Friday, May 9th, 2008

By Leah Bacon Customs & Traditions: The Civil Ceremony If both you and your groom are not religious and do not subscribe to any particular religion the thought of being wed in a church with a religious ceremony probably doesnt sit well. Moreover, if you both come from different religious backgrounds you may choose not to acknowledge them both by having an interfaith ceremony. You may also wish to include your own vows, readings, or other creative elements which are not allowed in other religious ceremonies. It is for these reasons that more and more couples are opting to have secular ceremonies while still following tradition - saying I do surrounded by all of your friends and family in a beautiful setting followed by a fabulous reception! Civil ceremonies are conducted by Officiants who are legally entitled to do so (that is, sign your marriage license). Before choosing your Wedding Officiant, you should be sure to ask them the following questions: 1. Is the Officiant available on our wedding date and will they travel to our location? 2. What fees does the Officiant charge? 3. How many weddings has the Officiant performed? 4. Ask for a ceremony itinerary including sample readings, passages, vows, etc. 5. Will there be a rehearsal? 6. How do you feel about the Officiant? Do you feel comfortable with them? Do you feel like you connect? Heres the basic rundown for a civil ceremony: Processional bride walks down the aisle Officiants Welcome and Opening Remarks welcome guests and read a passage or comment on the bride and groom Presentation father gives bride away Charge to the Couple explain that the couple has decided to join in marriage Vows couple exchanges vows Ring Exchange couple exchanges rings Pronouncement of Marriage announcing the couple as man and wife Seal It With a Kiss Officiants Closing Remarks Recessional bride and groom walk down the aisle together Leah Bacon of http://www.getmarriedcanada.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Leah_Bacon http://EzineArticles.com/?Wedding-Ceremony:-Guide-to-a-Civil-Ceremony&id=326740 san antonio car loan for people with bad credit bad credit car loan eugene equity loan for bad credit high risk personal loan regardless of credit guaranteed

Tips On Joining Adult Dating Services

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

By Pierre Smith There was a time that only single people used adult dating sites to meet that special someone. Nowadays, even married couples are joining adult dating discreet. Why? For the simple purpose of sexual gratification. Many people will think that married people get involved with adult dating services online because either the man or the woman is unhappy. Surprisingly, this is not true because some respondents have said that this adds some to the relationship. Another reason is the hype in terms of how media portrays adult dating services online. A good example is the scenes or acts often being shown in adult films. There is no warning that says this should not be done at home so the individual will like to experience this for real. If the partner is into this sort of thing, it is time to find someone who is open to it. Such personal adult dating services are not advertised on television or in the newspaper. The best place to find it is in the Internet. There are hundreds of sites and after signing up, you may be able to find other members with similar interests and mindsets. Some adult dating sites specialize on more precisely defined interest. Others can do this by talking to a partner on the phone or via the web. Since the adult dating site is similar to a singles bar, two people who want to do it for real can arrange to meet at a specific time and place. Those who are sick and tired working with just one individual may have an orgy by inviting other people to the party. In any case, there are no strings attached and this is all just for fun. Adult dating services are not talked about openly in public places. This is because there are those who are quick to judge the character of people and knowing someone who does will often labeled as cheap or a whore. The most important thing that people should remember is that this activity is done between two consenting adults. It does not harm anyone so it is best to leave alone these people that are happy with this kind of alternate lifestyle. Before joining an adult dating service, there are a few things that you should be aware of. 1. It is fact that there are a lot of personal adult dating services on the web. The law states the right to privacy so the individual has to be sure this adult dating service has certain systems in place to protect the identity of the members. It must be hack free since there will be hell to pay when news of this breaks out. 2. The adult personals dating cannot help if sometimes some of these members are soliciting money from other people. If this will be happen, it is best to break all contact. After all, those who have signed up there are looking for some action and not to give money away. 3. You should not give out too much information to a stranger. It should be mentioned that this could backfire later on some important things. 4. Whenever two people decide to meet, it is a good idea to inform a friend or family member about it. This will act as a fail safe system if something is going wrong. This article with tips and ideas on picking the right adult dating services was brought to you by Pierre Smith. Evolution is a Blind Faith

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

By Jeffery S. Miller Evolution is taught in schools to the youngest of the young. Creationism is thrown out the window, just because the liberals say so. Evolution is not an exact science. At least with Creationism, you have a system that works to answer our questions. Let’s explore some of these, shall we? Has anyone ever seen a human born unto a monkey? I haven’t either. In fact, no one in recorded history has. If man evolved from an ape, a human child should have been born from a monkey by now. Evolution is a bunch of hooey. It doesn’t exist. Sure we can evolve in our character, but we’re not going to wake up tomorrow with another ear. It isn’t possible, it never was. The above paragraph should have left no doubt in anyone’s mind about evolution, but I know some people aren’t sold yet. What about the fossils that have been dug up? There has never been a species discovered in a half-evolution state. All of the bones found are of full developed creatures. There’s no inbetween stage there. I hear someone asking, “How do you explain the cavemen and their abnormal skulls?” The cavemen were placed here on Earth by God. God created man in his image. The book of Genesis tells of the giants of the earth. A long time ago, giant men roamed the planet. As with most physical oddities, there will be birth defects. The cavemen were victims of their size. Now, that I have explained that one, let’s look at dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are in the Holy Bible. They are called by many names, the most common is the leviathan. Some believe this to be a whale, and it may be. I wasn’t around in those days. However, the leviathan is noted as a fire breathing creature according to the Word. Could it have been a dragon? Possibly. There is a small beetle in South America that can spray a mist of fire to capture it’s food. It’s not that far fetched. I’d rather believe that than in evolution. We could go on forever with this subject. The point that I want to make is believing in evolution is a blind faith. With Christianity you don’t have blind faith. The Old Testament tells of prophecies that were fulfilled by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It’s not wise to put faith in to things that aren’t proven and evolution is not proven. The Bible has been proven true and it’s not going to change. If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, it isn’t too late. Jesus said, “Anyone who calls upon Me shall be saved.” Admit to the Lord that you are a sinner and ask for HIS forgiveness. You can have an eternal home in Heaven today! It will be the best decision you ever made in your life. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past. Everything erases when you call upon Jesus with an open heart and ask him to enter your life. It doesn’t matter what your family will say. It doesn’t matter what your friends say either. You can have an eternal home with the Father through the Son, Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter if you were brought up in church or not. The Lord said that He will return in the twinkling of an eye. Don’t hesitate. You can know for sure that you’re going to Heaven right now! It can be a scary experience, but there’s no need to be afraid. I’m telling you, it’s the greatest thing you could ever do. Jeffery S. Miller is the author of the Higgins Series (Secular Books). Miller has been saved through Jesus Christ since the age of 14. The author of this article doesn’t want you to spend an eternity in Hell.
