Flatten Your Stomach With A Tummy Tuck Or Abdominoplasty

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

By Amy-Jo Strutt As we age, things just dont stay in place like they did when we were younger. This is even truer if you have ever given birth. Our bodies just dont seem as firm and slim as they once did. Many people, both men and women, who are looking for a flatter, smoother appearing stomach, are turning to abdominoplasty or more commonly known, the tummy tuck. This procedure should not be taken lightly as it is considered major surgery. The goal of the surgery is to remove any excess skin and fat from both the middle and lower abdomen as well as tighten the muscles of the stomach wall. The desired outcome is a flatter appearing stomach. We must keep in mind that a tummy tuck will leave behind permanent scars which in some cases can be quite long. If you are considering having abdominoplasty, here are some things to consider to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. Surgeons believe the best candidates are both men and women who are already in good shape but who cant get rid of that fat deposit or loose skin through either exercising or dieting. If you have ever been pregnant or overweight and have lost those excess pounds but your stomach skin has lost its elasticity, you are likely a good candidate as well. If you are considering getting a tummy tuck, make sure you have lost all the weight you want first. There are few advantages to the procedure if you still have weight to lose. Because abdominoplasty is considered major surgery, there are risks you should be aware of before you make a decision to proceed. First, make sure to use a qualified plastic surgeon that has a great track record. Ask they have any people who would be willing to provide you with a testimonial. If there are post-operative complications, they are likely to be infections and blood clots. Although they are rare, they still do occur and need to be aware of their dangers. It is important that you get up and move around after the surgery is done to reduce the risk of blood clots. Having a tummy tuck will leave you swollen and in a bit of discomfort. However, there are pain medications to help you through the days following surgery. It Takes a Child to Raise a Village

Monday, November 26th, 2007

By Karen Fusco Weve all heard the saying, It takes a village to raise a child. There are ways you can begin to teach your toddlers and teenagers to give back to that village and uplift their community with pride. It can be difficult if you dont take the right approach. Instead of making it sound like a chore, try these creative ways to encourage your child to invest time and energy into your village. 1. Teach by Demonstration. The best way to teach your child good values is by adhering to them yourself. A child naturally develops their morals and values based upon their environment. Children who grow up seeing their Mom active in the community will instinctively identify and want to invest in that same community. 2. Create Fun Ways To Give Back. In general, when it comes to kids, if it sounds fun and exciting they will want to participate. Gear community projects so they sound less like work and more like a great opportunity for fun. Come up with new themes and ways for your children to put on their creative hats and they are sure to want to join in the activity. Getting other children involved is also a great incentive for community youth participation. If it looks like a way to gain new friends it may peak your childs interest. 3. Make it a Family Affair. When the Thanksgiving holiday rolls around, round up the whole family to uplift your community. During Thanksgiving, spend a day making lunch bags together for the less fortunate people in your community. Pile into the minivan or SUV to drop them off to those in need. Some great, inexpensive things to include are an orange, a juice box, and bologna sandwiches. Essentially, you can feed 20 hungry people with less than $20.00 in groceries (bread, meat, oranges, and juice boxes). Make sure you always check your surroundings for safety on an outing such as this. 4. Senior Soiree. A great idea aimed at the elderly in your community is preparing simple gift bags for the Holidays and distributing them yourselves. Remember, its the thought that counts. You can take your teenage daughter to polish nails and meet residents at the nearby convalescent home if she is interested in being stylish. A great way to involve young children is by having them create homemade cards using arts and crafts to brighten someones room with original art. 5. A Rendezvous to Remember. Next Valentines Day bake a bunch of homemade cookies, package them up simply and let your kids give them out at a local childrens hospital. Its very important to get permission from the hospitals administration beforehand for food and handling safety reasons. Never give food to patients unauthorized because it can be very dangerous in terms of diet and allergies. 6. Positive Reinforcement. When you witness your child doing something selflessly for someone else, dont hold back on the praise and applause. The best way to get someone to do something is to give positive recognition when you witness them doing it. Taking the positive approach gives your children the chance to feel proud of themselves and theyll want to do more for others. Fly Fishing On The Green River - Paradise Lost

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Richard Chapo Fly fishing is all about finding a great location, preferably in the middle of a hatch. The Green River in Utah was one such place, but is it still? The Secret Is Out No less than five years ago, it seemed like you head to the Green River and see few others along your little stretch of paradise. These days, it seems like a freeway. The Green River starts at Flaming Gorge in the far Northeast of Utah. It then winds down through the Dinosaur National Monument area before passing through the deserts of central Utah and eventually flows into the Colorado River. The best fishing is around Flaming Gorge where the scenery and water make for a great trip. Perhaps it is just me, but this area of the river must have been highlighted in more than a few magazines. There are all manner of people on the river and jet skis arent unheard of. Admittedly, there has always been white water rafting groups in sections, but nothing like this. Kayakers and so on seem to be flourishing like mad. If there had been a few more boats on the river, you wouldve needed a traffic cop! Now dont get me wrong. The river is for everyone. It is just a bummer when a little known spot becomes a hot spot. Sort of a case of paradise lost. While the river is certainly more busy, the fish still seem to be biting. Browns and Rainbows are the catch of the day. Perhaps I was just there on a bad day. The Green River is so nice that even a bad day is still a good day. What the heck, I couldve been working! Camera Phones - Shoot at Will

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Keith_Rickwood]Keith Rickwood Camera phones have come in a big way in the last couple of years. During its introduction about a decade back, it was nothing more than a ‘gimmik’ aimed to give an extra muse to fiddle with. Obviously, being a premium feature, camera phones at that time was exorbitantly priced. Numerous imaging accessories starting from detachable cameras to flash flooded the market. As demands for cameras in phone increased, manufacturers started to include them in almost all high end phones. Initially, the integrated cameras were of VGA resolution which was good at shooting low resolution pictures meant for multimedia messages. However as mobile technologies evolved, these low resolution cameras made way for multi-megapixel cameras. In the current scenario, a 2.0 megapixel camera in any camera phone is the norm in contrast to 0.3 megapixel cameras of yesteryears. All leading manufacturers now have camera phones with resolution of 5.0 megapixel which is all set to go further up. Rumors about a colossal 10 megapixel camera are making rounds recently. With high resolution, almost every camera phone today features advanced imaging tools like zoom, flash, autofocus, special effects and in many cases a fully evolved picture/video editor. Other than functionality, camera phones has also undergone a drastic in its outlook. Gone are the days when a camera phone is as big and heavy as a brick. They now feather weight, comes in razor slim casing with highly stylized outlook. Camera phones today are not only competing against each other but also with digital camera. Camera phones enjoys many advantages over digital camera for their size, ease of use and their multi-functional qualities. Price is another factor working in favor of camera phones. In fact, many experts predicts that camera phones will completely wipe out digital camera in the future. The rate at which technologies are advancing, the future is much nearer than it seems. Keith Rickwood writes articles for consumers who want to find the latest technology mobile phones with all major mobile phone networks. He has written articles for major publications about latest mobile phones and how buyers can find the best deals. Weight Loss - Necessary or Cosmetic?

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

By Michael Russell Almost daily we hear people saying I must go on a diet or I need to lose a few pounds. These people are usually addicts of the slimmers’ market or are overweight and are just talking about weight loss as a means of consoling themselves, knowing that they probably will not make the effort that is necessary to achieve their “target weight”. It seems in today’s society that weight loss is an almost constant concern, not just by the people who manufacture all sorts of slimming aids, but also the general pubic who seem that much more aware of the need to keep the calories down. There are probably a hundred and one ways that retailers will tell you is the best method to make those stubborn inches reduce. However, common sense says that the only real way to keep weight down (that’s if you haven’t already lost it) is regular exercise and sensible eating. Personal opinion doesn’t enter into it. Our GPs have been telling us for years about these two facts but why do we consistently choose to ignore them? Does it sound too difficult? Fact number one, as we get older - and the “lower end” of this scale has dropped to 40 years of age - probably because of lack of care, bad lifestyle management, bad eating, the only exercise taken is a walk to the car, one in four people are pretty well sure to have developed Type 2 diabetes. Obesity is the main cause of this condition. The side effects being high blood pressure, loss of circulation, usually in the feet, kidney problems, eye problems, etc, etc. It will eventually catch up with you. Promise! Remember one in four: so if you’re sitting on a 60 seater bus, chances are 15 people could have diabetes - yes 25 per cent! So, what’s the cure for diabetes. Answer. Nothing! On the one hand, we can ignore it, keep stacking the weight on, keep eating rubbish, let the blood pressure rise, start losing our eyesight, have problems with the waterworks. Then prematurely die!! There is an alternative though, which involves weight loss. Many, many diabetics take responsibility for their condition - and that includes weight loss. They exercise regularly, eat plenty of low-fat food, plenty of pulses, as much diet drink as they like and, most importantly, walk for 30 minutes a day at least three times a week. Weight loss is a critical issue in the society we live in today. With foods mass produced, it is up to us to keep ourselves in good condition. That means losing weight. It isn’t really that difficult. We hear a lot from the more famous weight loss companies about their products giving you the ability to lose more weight than their rivals. But, commonsense, a visit to the library to see what a diabetic eats - which is always a good guide. Write yourself a little chart with your regime and away you go. You will be surprised just how quickly you will get into shape. And, more importantly, it will be fun to do and you will certainly reap the benefit in the long run, especially if you are getting on in years. Best Buy Cell Phones - They are as Good as it Gets, the Best is as you Like it

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Paul_Heath]Paul Heath It is easier to choose a lover, these days. Joking apart, choosing a cellular phone is tough. With so many models and features, not to mention an offer here and a discount there-the task is positively Herculean. Mobiles will come and go; a phone will be the toast of a season, another will take its place. Before you get confused figuring out the best, let us get the cat out of the bag. Best buy cell phones do not exist. Each mobile is as good as it gets. The best is What You Decide, i.e., what best suits your needs and budget. However, some simple pointers can make your hunt for best buy cell phones a lot easier. Finding out about a mobiles Signal Reception can be a bit like convincing Woody Allen to be present at an Oscar night. Nevertheless, user reports and a bit of research can lead one to the mobile with the most consistent signal reports. A cellular phone without Ring Tones is like Jennifer Lopez in a nuns habit. Again, only with some mobiles you can get new ones free. Size, does matter and Weight, too. A small cellular phone that snugly fits into your pocket is definitely a plus, if you travel a lot. A mobile with a Speakerphone is a good safety measure while driving. A good Voice Memo is another feature that you can keep in mind while you go shopping. Best buy cell phones do not exist. Nevertheless, some general characteristics are best thought upon before buying. Cellular phone Band Support can be an important criterion if you are one of those sorts that are gallivanting around the world. A tri-band mobile picks up 900 MHz (covering Europe), 1800 MHz (Asia) and 1900 MHz (The United States) and is technically functional, all around the globe. The Design of your phone, once again can be a teaser. There are two options. The flip-open (remember Star-Trek?), clamshell- style mobile and the standard non-flip ones. You can have difficulty with flip-phones if you are prone to hold your mobile with one hand because the cover may be heavier than the base. If you go for the non-flip one then it is important to check that your mobile has the automatic key guard. The final say, should obviously include whether you are comfortable handling it. Keypad, battery life, screen, display contrast and backlight strength are some other important aspects of the best buy cell phones. If you need to check the manual for Keypad functions then you can think again. The Keypad layout and menu functions should be easy to grasp; protruding buttons are handy on the long run. The average Battery Life of most mobiles comprises three hours of talk time and two to six days on stand by. A cellular phone that has to search for its signal, constantly, finishes its battery faster. Surfing the web, sending and receiving text messages or using an organizer requires a screen. Generally, a mobile Screen accommodating six lines of text is considered more than enough. Similarly, Display Contrast and Backlight Strength afford easy view ability and if they can be set according to individual requirement, then nothing like it. Brides Wedding Flower Ideas - Showered By A Canopy of Falling Rose Petals

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

By Kathi Dameron The wedding reception is almost over. The bride and grooms picnic basket is packed with champagne and honeymoon snacks. The picnic basket is waiting in the get away carriage for the bridal couple. As the happy just-married husband and wife prepare for their grand departure, family and friends gather to shower them with a canopy of fragrant rose petals. Rose petals are a lovely alternative to the traditional rice or bird seed that is tossed in the final moments of a wedding reception before the wedding couple head off to begin their new life together as Mr. and Mrs. Just Married. How To Dry Rose Petals For A Fragrant Rose Petal Shower 1. Start collecting rose petals several months before your wedding day. 2. Place each petal individually in a single layer on a cookie sheet and allow to dry at a very low temperature in the oven. 3. Store the dried rose petals loosely in ziplock bags. Before closing bags, add a couple drops of rose geranium essential oil to the bag. 4. On your wedding day place the petals in lovely little silver or crystal bowls for your guests to toss at the appropriate moment. Some brides like to make little chiffon and ribbon gathered purses to hold their petals. Here is another great idea just for the two of you … bring along a couple bags of fresh rose petals to scatter on your honeymoon bed!! Best wishes and sweet dreams! 2006 Kathi Dameron, Kathi Dameron and Associates Note To Publishers: You are invited to share this article through your ezine, website or print publication provided you publish this article in its entirety and include the copyright statement, bio information, active website links and contact information for Kathi Dameron and Associates as provided in the resource section at the bottom of the article. Love Yourself Now - Your Weight Will Follow

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

By Dr. Iris Fanning Your mind, body & spirit are woven together in a wonderful pattern. Yet we live in a culture that SELLS “health”, “beauty” and “slenderness”. “Health” is often identified as using massive supplements, buying over the counter products, using pharmaceuticals, and being medically uninteresting. “Beauty” is shown as purchasing the latest face creams, cosmetics, hair products, freezing our faces with a poison (Botox), injecting our faces with foreign substances (collagen, restilin etc), being knocked out (anesthesia), cut open, tissue removed or sucked out (cosmetic surgery), sewn up with a needle and thread (surgical stitches) and all of this repeated several times in a life-time. “Slenderness” is a multi-billion dollar a year industry. Yet we are fatter than ever!! We have lost touch with our normal body rhythms, hunger, need for movement, rest and sex. Self-loathing, distorted body image (seeing yourself as bigger than you are), continued yo-yo dieting frequently lead to greater levels of weight gain. STOP! BREATHE!! Before you spend one more dime, dollar or $29.95 on the next weight loss product, stop & think. You are wonderfully, joyously & miraculously made. Your body has an amazing capacity toward health, healing & vitality. YOU can discover what is right for you without beating yourself up or putting your mind, body or spirit in jeopardy. Over the next week, try this simple process. 1) Check in with yourself several times a day and ask a few questions. How do I feel? Is there anything I need right now to feel happier or have more joy? Do I need to eat? If so, what would taste good and feel good? Do I need to move, stretch, or walk? If so, what can I do right now so I feel good? Am I thirsty? Am I tired? Would water help hydrate me? Do I need to rest for awhile or go to bed earlier? 2) Next do the thing(s) that you’ve determined will help you feel well. 3) In about 20 minutes check in with yourself after you have eaten, drank, rested, moved or whatever you determined to do. Do you have more or less energy? Do you feel calm or hyper? Are you focused or scattered? Do you feel more balanced or more stressed? 4) Make a mental note or write down your check in. Also note what you did that lead to you experiencing more wellness or feeling more unsettled. Now, its time to make this a daily practice. You DO have the capacity to become your right weight over time. This requires patience, self love and the ability to listen to your own voice. Experiment with different foods. If you have a sweet craving and usually eat chocolate or sugary treats, then try some fruit. If that doesnt satisfy the craving, have some chocolate. Try some rich, dark chocolate from Whole Foods or Trader Vics (60-75% cocoa). It has less sugar, more cocoa and often satisfies the craving with a smaller portion. If you are craving salt, try a couple of olives. If you are craving fat, try a healthy fat like a couple slices of avocado or some nuts. Use this process on a daily basis. Be kind with yourself. It takes awhile to tune back in. It also takes some energy, awareness & dedication to NOT go unconscious about the whole process. Remember to be gentle with yourself. You will have some slips, falls and out and out failures. Thats OKand to be expected. You are remembering how to eat naturally. Take your time. YOU can succeed! You can be healthy, vital and joyful. You will come in alignment with your natural weight. You ARE beautiful! Diets, Diets, Diets…Do They Work?

Monday, November 19th, 2007

By Mike Yeager Almost everyone has attempted to follow diets and weight loss programs at some time in their lives. The trouble with so many diets and low fat diets is that they are hard to follow. Some diets leave you hungry and craving food all the time. A healthy diet is one that you feel good about following and encourages you to eat in a healthy way while at the same time reducing the overall calorie content. When choosing from among the many diets available, keep in mind what your reason is for altering your eating and exercise habits. Do you want to feel better and have some more energy? Are you tired of not fitting into your clothes and that has caused you to consider one of the weight loss diets? Experts agree that its not good to try and loose excess weight in a quick manner. Its better to take your time and incorporate a package of exercise, proper nutrition and, in general, balance. As with all new diets, weight loss and exercise plans, its always best to consult with your physician and have a complete physical examination before starting. There are many different diets products to choose from. Choose from only the best providers of coral calcium products that offer great prices. That way youll be guaranteed quality and they can even be shipped right to your door. Let Women Talk and Help

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

By Yair Czitrom Women love to talk (just think of how long they talk on the telephone). Women like to help (just think of a typical “female” job: nurse, kindergarten teacher, geriatric nurse…). Combine those attributes and you got a talk up and running by asking the woman: “Could I ask you for help? Could you tell me why/what/how/…”. Ask her any question you like as long as the question is non-answerable by a simple “Yes” or “No”. Believe it or not, but maybe you have failed in your last dating attempt because you maneuvered yourself into dead-end answers. If you ask a girl “Have you been long here?” then practically anything she can answer is a dead end. She could answer “No, not long” or “A couple of minutes” but both answers do not lead into a nice conversational flow. Many men (since men are practical-minded) want a “clear and simple” answer. For dating purposes that kind of “questioning strategy” is absolutely wrong. Train by simply re-phrasing some of your question. Wrong: “Do you like this place?”, right: “What do you think about this place?”. You get the idea. In other words: Let her TALK. (This is just a simple example and I am not telling you to ask women that question). Or ask her something like: “What do you think is the most common flaw men have?” or “I am writing for dating-forum.com. Could you help me by telling me what feature your ideal man should have?”. Let her talk for hours. Typical “open questions” start with Why….? How….? What….? Where/When…..? You get the idea.
